Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"If you are looking for a typical, authentic Italian ristorante, this is the place. The interior is bright and warm, with incredibly helpful service. I honestly felt right at home, despite being over 1000km away from where I live. The food is consistently good—my friend and I visited three times and were never disappointed. Highly recommend the Tiramisu!"
"I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. The food, the service, the generosity, the kindness shown by the owner a staff. Sunday night, I came down to eat, I had an issue with my accommodation and I had no freezer in my room for all the French butter I purchased in Paris. I needed it to be kept frozen. I asked the owner kindly after paying for my meal and he said no issues at all, I’m happy to help you. So so kind!!! I then came back the next two days to eat. Pasta is absolutely fantastic, generous portions and very reasonable prices it would seem for Rome and being so close to the Vatican. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying near Ristorante Pizzeria Castello. Just go and enjoy Italian hospitality and the food! Adam from Melbourne Australia."
"Food was very good, started our meal with an aperol/Hugo spritz and to eat we had prosciutto with melon, carbonara and a margarita pizza. Ended with limoncello and cookies. Super easy walk from St. Peter's basílica as well so great stop after climbing up to the dome!"
"The food is absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and incredibly tasty. Every dish we tried was excellent. The service and hospitality are more than perfect; the staff make you feel genuinely welcome and well taken care of. A special thanks to Moustafa, the owner & Ahmed the waiter who is extremely warm, friendly, and professional. His hospitality really makes the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rome and looking for amazing food and outstanding service."
"We ordered the pizza, gnocchi & eggplant parmigiana. Food was wonderful & the staff are so nice & helpful, their hospitality is what made it special. We forgot to shoot the tiramisu before eating it"
"Very friendly staff. I was seated right away. The food comes quickly and is hot. The prices are very fair as well. I even got a Limoncello on the house:) This is my last day in Rome otherwise I would be back again here tomorrow!"
"We ate dinner her twice on our recent visit to Rome. We had bread and chilli oil as an appetiser, the bruschetta to start and pizzas for main. Wine and beer, as well as the food, were excellent and we were given glasses of limoncello at the end of the meal. The staff and the atmosphere were great and we wouldn't hesitate to go back. I believe that, sonce we were there, they have relocated a couple of door further up the road, so look for the sign above the door. We have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant."
"I came to this establishment with with my cousins because of a friends recommendation and what an AMAZING experience. I don’t normally do reviews but this place is 1000% worth it. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We enjoyed some drinks as well and everything was brought out in a timely manner. The entire staff without exception is so kind and so welcoming and they made sure we were taken care of. Everyone feels like family at the restaurant and that’s a vibe you cannot replicate. I will be back tomorrow for more!"
